The Washington Redskins are the defending NFC East champs, but the Vegas futures suggest the Cowboys are poised to take the NFC East crown in 2016, and that's not necessarily a knock on the Redskins. Repeating as division champs is no small task. No team has repeated as NFC East Champion since the Eagles did it in 2004.
VegasInsider.com recently released their odds for teams to win the NFC in the 2016 season, and they have the Cowboys with the best odds of winning the NFC East.
More often than not, the early odds are just mirror of how teams finished last season, but not this year. In addition to the Cowboys, who are favored to be the new division champion in the NFC East, the NFC North and NFC West see changes at the top, with the Packers and Seahawks favored to take the division title from the Vikings and Cardinals respectively.
The table below shows the odds for each team in the NFC.

Opening Sunday (on September 11) is still 213 days away, and a lot can happen with these odds. Keep in mind that Vegas is intent on making sure they don't over- or undervalue a team and thereby lose money. And if the action on the bet gets lopsided in either direction, they'll adjust the odds pretty quickly.
How do you like the Cowboys' chances to take the division in 2016?
