It's not a major headline-grabbing move, but the Dallas Cowboys did sign a free agent on the second day of the 2016 free agency period. It was one of their own. Cornerback Josh Thomas has struck a one-year deal with the Cowboys.

Thomas, as noted above, spent very little time with the Cowboys, only getting in at the tail end of the 2015 season.

He came into the league as a fifth-round pick of the Cowboys out of the University of Buffalo in 2011, but was let go and caught on with the Carolina Panthers and played with them through the 2013 season. He started 10 games for the Panthers in those three years. Since then he's been with the Seahawks, and briefly with the Jets and Lions. He was out of football and starting his own real estate company when the Colts brought him back into the league for eight games in 2015. He was released and the Cowboys picked him up for the final game of the 2015 season.
