Mailbag: Cowboys' Interest In Stephen Tulloch? Taking Risks With Personnel? - Staff, Dallas Cowboys
Should the Cowboys look into the recently released linebacker from the Detroit Lions?
Bryan: They are working on other names, but Stephen Tulloch is not one of them. Age, injury and the fact that he has become a two-down player doesn’t interest them.
Which Cowboys Players Did You Hate Seeing Play For A Different Team? - Danny Phantom, Blogging The Boys
Free agency has redefined what it means to be loyal. Can you recall an instance where you were upset when a Cowboys player left to go play for another team?
The Cowboys would steal Charles Haley away from the 49ers in a traded that helped catapult Dallas over the top on route to back-to-back Super Bowl victories. The 49ers would play back at them when they signed Cowboys free agent linebacker Ken Norton Jr. in 1994. This was the first year the salary cap was instituted and the Cowboys had to be selective about where their money went. And it didn’t go to Norton.
NFC East Q&A: Beckham-Norman matchup is big, but don't forget about Dez-Norman - John Keim, ESPN
Is the Josh Norman-Odell Beckham Jr. matchup the marquee attraction this year in the NFC East? Our division writers sound off.
After the game Norman said, "Hey, they need to get Dez’s $70 mil back," referring to Bryant’s contract. Later in the offseason, however, Norman called Bryant one of the best receivers in the game. That was before Norman signed with Washington. Maybe he knew he would see Bryant sooner rather than later.
Which Cowboys player I think gets first crack at MLB with Rolando McClain's suspension - Staff, SportsDay
Columnist Rick Gosselin recently held a chat to talk all things D-FW sports. Here are some highlights: Question: Who gets first crack at middle linebacker in the wake of the McClain suspension?
I'd say [Anthony] Hitchens gets first crack. He's started there before in McClain's absence. He is less likely to make a mistake than a younger, maybe even a more talented, player. Young players make mistakes that get you beaten. With a defensive front that is missing three of hits seven best players in September, this team cannot afford to make any mistakes on that side of the ball. It's going to be difficult enough for Romo and the offense to carry this team without Santa Claus passing out gifts over on the defensive side of the ball.
Stephen Tulloch could strengthen Cowboys' defense for Week 1 vs. Giants - James Kratch, NJ.com
The Eagles might want Tulloch, but Dallas might want him a lot more out of necessity.
But while Gregory and Lawrence are only suspended for four games, McClain will be serving a 10-game ban. Weathering the first four weeks without their starting defensive ends will be a tall task for the Cowboys, but being without a starting linebacker until Thanksgiving could kill their season.
Why are the Cowboys even holding on to Rolando McClain? Easy; they're desperate on defense - Staff, SportsDay
Rick Gosselin pulled no punches when he spoke about the chances for the Cowboys' defense this season.
On paper heading into next season they have 12 1/2 sacks. It's gonna take you 43 to be a Super Bowl contender. Now where are they going to come up with 30 sacks in the next five months? ... The point is that McClain is one of the few guys, Gregory, Lawrence, they need these guys. This is a shell of an NFL defense without those three players with or without their baggage. They need those three guys on the field which is why you put up with them.
20 Questions: No. 17 Has Writers Debating Cowboys’ Return Game - Staff, Dallas Cowboys
The staff writers at DallasCowboys.com – Rob Phillips, David Helman, Nick Eatman and Bryan Broaddus – are attempting to answer 20 pressing questions as the team gets ready for camp and the 2016 season.
Whitehead is the only real burner on the receiving corps and he’ll have to figure out how to use that speed to his advantage on offense. But on special teams, he should be even better in 2016 and I think he will be the reason the return unit shines next year.

Lee-McClain is one of most talented LB duos in NFL, but there's one big difference between the two - Staff, SportsDay
The Cowboys love to bargain, but those bargains are starting to bite them. They could have had the most talented linebacker corps, but one guy is vastly different from the other.
Sometimes there's been concussions, sometimes there's been physical issues otherwise. Sometimes we're not even sure why it is he's not playing. There's always something with him. It's not like Sean Lee. Sean Lee, we know what his issues are. There's no questioning the work ethic. There's no questioning the leadership he brings to the position. To me, they're two of the most talented linebackers in the league. But one guy has poured his heart into it and one guy we're not even sure if he cares.
Wrapping Up The Offseason: Did The Cowboys Improve At Running Back? - Michael Sisemore, Blogging The Boys
Before the dead zone is over and the Cowboys head out to Oxnard, we ask if they have improved from 2015 to 2016?
So, did the Dallas Cowboys improve at the position?
Of course they did and I would venture to say that with the top guys healthy, the Cowboys may have one of the best groups in the NFL. We know that Morris can produce in the zone scheme and McFadden showed that he had plenty left in the tank. Elliott is the new shiny toy for Scott Linehan and either Jackson or Dunbar offers a skill set that is needed in the NFL.
