Cowboys Post-Game Audio: Stephen Jones Wants To Evaluate Before Deciding On A Veteran QB

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Our friends over at SB Nation Radio sent us a few audio clips from the locker room after the Cowboys loss to the Houston Texans in the final preseason game of the year. In the first clip, Stephen Jones is asked about three topics: A veteran quarterback, Darren McFadden's status and his optimism for the team going into the season. Jones wouldn't commit to anything about a veteran quarterback yet, noting Austin Davis is looking around for his best situation and that the Cowboys will be doing the same, presumably evaluating players after the upcoming cuts along with Jameill Showers. He gave no indications about McFadden's status and as you might guess he was optimistic about the team going into the season.

Next up was David Irving, who had a nice start to the game, but as he notes, he got tired playing so many snaps.

Finally, everyone's favorite pet cat, Rico Gathers. He spoke on having to wait around on the sidelines to get his chance but finally getting into a game and making a catch.
