The Dallas Cowboys are now past their bye week and are preparing to save their season. Sounds dramatic, but at 2-3, they really can’t afford a loss to the winless San Francisco 49ers. They head out to the west coast for a clash on Sunday afternoon and they will have their running back Ezekiel Elliott with them after a court stayed his suspension.
The Cowboys offense is humming, putting up over 30 points and 400 yards in each of their last two games. Dak Prescott is hitting his stride and the running game is finally starting to surface. Much of the improvement has to do with the offensive line finally starting to play better and getting in sync with each other. If things go wrong on Sunday, it likely won’t be on the offensive side of the ball.
The defense has been the liability recently. Perhaps things will be better this week as Sean Lee is expected to return and Anthony Hitchens is a couple of weeks healthier. If they can bring some stability to the middle of the defense, everything else could fall into place. They will be battling and unknown quantity in rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard, but known quantities in running back Carlos Hyde and wide receiver Pierre Garcon.
The Cowboys are desperate for a win. They are facing a winless team on the road that is better than their record shows. It’s a tricky game for Big D but they have to get it done.
Here’s your info for the game.
