One quarter of the 2017 NFL season is in the books for the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas has definitely started out the year slower than expected, limping to a 2-2 record and a shaken identity. Last year this team knew exactly who it was, a bully who ran the ball over defenses and ate up the clock. This year, that’s not working exactly to plan.
The new personnel along the offensive line has caused issues up front, and that’s led to fewer holes for Ezekiel Elliott and less time for Dak Prescott. Both Zeke’s and Dak’s stats are down from a year ago. The Cowboys need to re-establish dominance in the trenches against a mediocre Packers line that might be without Mike Daniels again. Once they do that, the passing game should open up.
On defense, it’s the same as it ever was, somehow contain Aaron Rodgers. You have to get pressure, but you also have to keep him from running out of the pocket, extending plays and picking up first downs with his feet. The Packers offensive line is beat up and may be without some starters, DeMarcus Lawrence and the rest of the pass rush needs to take advantage. Anthony Hitchens return will hopefully help cover for the loss of Sean Lee (assuming he doesn’t play like most expect).
Here’s your info for the game.
