Cowboys injury update: Tyron Smith, Anthony Hitchens, Dan Bailey expected to play

Good news on the injury front for Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys are finally getting some good news. The injury report for the game on Thanksgiving Day against the Los Angeles Chargers is favorable. Tyron Smith, Anthony Hitchens and Dan Bailey are all expected to play. Earlier today both Smith and Hitchens say they will be able to go even though they are listed as questionable on the injury report.

That is huge news for the Cowboys. Without Smith, their offensive line play dropped off and the Dallas offense was limited in what it could do. His presence should have a dramatic impact. Not to mention the Cowboys are facing a very good pass-rushing unit in the Chargers.

Anthony Hitchens being available should help mediate the problems caused by Sean Lee’s absence. It’s not the same as having Lee, but no Lee AND Hitchens would have been infinitely worse.

And bonus good news.

We’ll see if they make a move with Mike Nugent or keep him for insurance.

La’el Collins is listed as questionable, but it is believed that is precautionary. If he couldn’t go for some reason, Byron Bell took snaps on the right side in practice.

Hopefully, there will be no issues between now and game time and Smith, Hitchens, Bailey and Collins will all play.
