Cowboys injury update: Sean Lee almost certainly won’t play, Zack Martin making good progress

The latest for the Cowboys as they head prepare for the Washington game.

It was already pretty much known, but it seems certain that Sean Lee will miss the Cowboys game on Thursday night against NFC East rival Washington. Lee hasn’t practiced all week and he won’t practice again today.

Day-by-day in Cowboys terminology almost never means the next few days, it usually means day-by-day once a week or so passes. Do not expect to see Lee on Thursday except on the sideline acting as another assistant coach.

The linebacking corps did get some good news today as Anthony Hitchens is expected to participate somewhat in today’s practice. That is huge for Dallas, because Justin Durant is still out with a concussion. It looks like Hitchens, Jaylon Smith and Damien Wilson will see a lot of work on Thursday.

The offensive line new is a mixed-bag. The really good news is that Zack Martin had a good day of practice yesterday and there is real optimism he will be able to go on Thursday. La’el Collins isn’t expected to practice today as he rests his sore back, we’ll have to see if this is just preventative or something more serious.
