Cowboys injury report: David Irving has a concussion and will miss practice, Sean Lee returns

The Cowboys have an important member of the defense in concussion protocol.

NFL: Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

After getting some extra time off and needed rest, the Dallas Cowboys will return to practice today and prepare for an NFC East battle with the New York Giants. One name that was added to the injury list that was somewhat unexpected was David Irving. He suffered a concussion on Thursday and is still unable to go.

Others that will not practice include two of the offensive linemen, La’el Collins and Tyron Smith. Both are expected to play, and both were very good in the Washington game. Hopefully their injuries don’t progress and they can play the full last quarter of the season.

Orlando Scandrick isn’t practicing today, and he likely won’t play this week.

Jason Garrett said that Dak Prescott’s hand doesn’t appear to be an issue at all.

And Sean Lee? He continues to work towards playing. But is he practicing?

Well, I guess by the absence of Sean Lee’s name from the “won’t practice today” group, that he will practice today. From Todd Archer:

Defensive end David Irving will not practice today because of a concussion suffered in the win against Washington. He will work out off to the side as he gets through the protocol in hopes of playing Sunday against the New York Giants. Orlando Scandrick (back), Tyron Smith (back, groin) and La'el Collins (back) will also not practice.

UPDATE: Sean Lee is back at practice today.
