Cowboys injury update: David Irving still not practicing, Tyron Smith returning

The Cowboys are still missing a big piece of their defensive line.

The Dallas Cowboys will be without David Irving when they practice today. Irving suffered a concussion in the Thursday night game versus Washington, although it was not diagnosed at the time as symptoms only appeared later. He finished that game.

He’s not practicing today which elevates the concern that he won’t be able to play on Sunday. He could come out of concussion protocol at any time, but for the moment Dallas may be without an important piece of their defensive line in the upcoming game.

La’el Collins is also sitting out today’s practice, but it looks like that will be a regular occurrence until his bulging disk issue is no longer bothering him. His linemate Tyron Smith is expected to return today to get at least some limited work in.

The Cowboys are practicing outside today for a specific reason.

Right now weather.com has the temps in New York on Sunday in the upper 30’s with a pretty decent wind and possible snow flurries in the overnight hours. Cowboys ground game will be a key in weather like that.
