UPDATE: Terms of the deal

The Cowboys are losing another piece of their defensive line. Versatile defensive end and tackle Jack Crawford will be playing for the Falcons in 2017. From his agent:

Crawford has been an under the radar guy for the Cowboys, quietly but effectively playing defensive end and defensive tackle depending on what the Cowboys needed. His stats aren’t overwhelming but his versatility and his motor are a great asset.

The Falcons were reportedly after Terrell McClain too, but he ended up going to Washington, so the Falcons turned their attentions to Crawford. The Cowboys ability to stop the run this season, number one in the league in raw yards, has made their defensive line a surprising target of other teams. As much as we complain about their pass rush, their run-stopping capabilities are getting noticed.

Dallas will have to start looking on the free agent market for some depth once the prices come down, but they do have guys like Charles Tapper who could fit into the mix going forward.
