The mood was even better than on day two.

The first day of the 2017 NFL Draft created a lot of worry and sometimes heated discussion on Twitter among those who follow the Dallas Cowboys. DE Taco Charlton was a polarizing pick, some praised the selection and many just flat out hated the decision. Day two brought reactions that ranged mostly from real pleasure to sighs of relief as the Cowboys snagged Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis, two cornerbacks who were widely seen to be very good value at the spots they were taken.

And day three was just plain fun.

Having stood fast in the first two rounds, the Cowboys had four picks coming up when the fourth round began.

And there was still a little discussion going on about the Charlton pick.

In the fourth round, the Cowboys took their first offensive player in wide receiver Ryan Switzer from North Carolina.

He looks to be a candidate to return kicks and puns, too - at least according to him.

He does seem to have a little ability.

And a Cowboys connection.

The whole family looks pretty pumped.

Meanwhile, there was this going on.

The Cowboys had to sit through the fifth round. And as the sixth got underway, the name of one of their national visitors started coming up - a lot.

Then, with several picks still to go until Dallas’ sixth round slot . . .

There were positive reactions.

And REALLY positive reactions.

So by this point, things were looking pretty good.

And having gotten into the trade action, the Cowboys weren’t done.

Dallas now had three seventh-round picks to work with, along with still having one in the sixth.

First, it was time to triple dip with their new sixth-round selection.

Next up:

That left the Cowboys with two more picks to make.

How fun? This is him making a somewhat contested catch.

And finally:

With all the picks in, the feeling around Cowboys Nation was pretty good.

It’s still too early to know for sure about how this draft class will really stack up. But the Cowboys did win the draft in one way.
