There’s a bit of a “summer checklist” that football fans go through in order to countdown the days until pigskin is back in our lives. For many fans, the MLB All-Star Game is a notable landmark on that path back to football.
The annual collection of the game’s finest took place on Tuesday, July 11th in Miami. The last time that the Cowboys visited Miami was November 22nd, 2015 when Tony Romo made his triumphant return to the starting lineup (and threw a left-handed pass in the process). On Tuesday, July 11th the Cowboys were present in Miami, though, thanks to Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper.
During the top of the fourth inning Bryce, who’s mic’d up, brings up America’s Team to Joe Buck, who served on call for many of the games across Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott’s rookie seasons. The two have quite the chat about the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year:
Bryce: How do you think Dak’s gonna be this year?
Buck: I think he’ll be... I have not met a more impressive young player coming into the NFL in the time I have covered the NFL.
Bryce: He’s fun to watch. I mean, watching him on Sundays and Mondays, Thursdays, I mean... that guy... him and Zeke, I mean... unbelievable.
Dak Prescott, ladies and gentlemen! So good and so charismatic, that even the star of the Washington-based baseball team is bringing him up. One would think that perhaps Bryce would indeed be a Washington Redskins fan, but on the contrary, he bleeds silver and blue:

Everybody loves the Dallas Cowboys, even Bryce Harper. Huzzah.
