The Dallas Cowboys finally put the pads on to signal their first padded practice of the year. From Jaylon Smith to Taco Charlton, here are all the highlights from the Cowboys first time in their armor.

First up, Jaylon Smith is in pads people and he dominated the story lines for Wednesday’s practice:

It’s incredible to finally see Jaylon making contact with other players, though he’s in a modified brace, you can’t help but get excited:

Poor O.C.C., his pet cat, Mark Nzeocha, just can’t get on the field:

Ryan Switzer was getting some work in special teams drills:

While Tyrone Crawford gets a veteran day off, Taco Charlton steps into the first-team:

If it doesn’t work out for these guys in the NFL, maybe they could make a heck of a run in the WWE.

Dak Prescott had himself quite a day at practice, here he is hooking up with Terrance Williams:

Here are few highlight videos from the compete period, pretty much everyone’s favorite thing to watch:

Andy Jones is fighting for a roster spot, here he is going one-on-one with Sammy Seamster:

Obviously, the story of the day is still Jaylon Smith and his abilities, this time he’s in full team drills:

It was “almost” a catch for Geoff Swaim:

As Nate Newton would say, here goes the President, Zack Martin:

Benson Mayowa was back in practice and lucky Benson gets to call 77 up to the plate:

He wasn’t the only unlucky soul as so did Damontre Moore:

The offensive linemen were definitely winning the majority of their battles:

As practice began to wear down, so did the offense, some good wins came for the defensive side of the ball:

Let’s just say Jason Witten wasn’t happy about the offensive struggles at the end of practice:

There was a bit of a scare when Maliek Collins went back with the trainers but he seems to be okay:

Charles Tapper also got a little dinged up but he returned too:

We also had our first scrum toward the end of practice, it’s only a good sign of aggression and competitive drive:

All in all, it was a competitive day at practice for a lot of guys. Let’s just hope the two dinged up defensive linemen are going to be fine.

Here’s Ezekiel Elliott doing his thing to close us out:
