Cowboys Camp Day 5: All your highlights from the Cowboys fifth practice

Here are all the highlights from today’s practice out at Cowboys training camp.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys Training Camp Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After taking Friday off, the Cowboys were back on the field for their fifth practice of training camp. Notable guys that did not practice were Maliek Collins (hip flexor) and Ryan Switzer (hamstring). Also, the Cowboys waived/ injured quarterback Zac Dysert and activated DT Richard Ash from the NFI list. Two other notable additions to the Cowboys’ practice today:

They don’t even wait a day before giving Dysert’s prestigious number to McCown.

Well, we got our first mention of the Cowboys’ seventh-round pick, Joey Ivie, you remember the guy that Rod Marinelli was over the moon for?

And, here is the birthday boy, Dak Prescott, with his clipboard holder. Happy Birthday Dak!

Uh oh...Bad dudes alert:

Saturday’s practice may have had the most fans so far to show up at this year’s training camp, it was packed!

Notable Cowboys’ fan and actor Omar Epps stopped by to see his Cowboys’ put in work:

After having a couple of days of rest, Jaylon Smith was back to practice:

And it’s not training camp without your daily music update from David Helman:

Another visitor of practice was Dak Prescott’s father:

Man, Prescott’s family closeness is something to marvel at:

Early in today’s practice, Jourdan Lewis was taken to the medical tent and then removed from the practice field, there is no other information at this time:

One guy who is always fired up for practice is none other than Dez Bryant, the All-Pro receiver:

How about a little two-on-two for a breezy Saturday afternoon in southern California? Terrance Williams with the grab.

Sprinkle in a little Cole Beasley...

Add a dash of Andy Jones and to the house, he goes! Well...without safety help.

Alright, now we’re talking. Good to see Cedric Thornton putting in some work after being relatively unheard from last season:

Here’s Taco Charlton going through the pass rush drills:

Seems like the offense came to compete today after the defense has had the edge early on:

All in all, the running backs were having a pretty good practice:

Jaylon Smith was getting after it today, watch him chase down Darren McFadden and force him out:

Sean Lee said ‘hold my beer, Jaylon’ and got in on the action:

Get this man his gold jacket already, 15 years and still killing it:

“You better watch out, you better not cry...” Marinelli: “You better watch that zone-read as Dak goes flying by!”

Split ‘em Dan...wait watch out for the camera man!

Our buddy, Mark Lane with the tweet of the day:

A little more special teams news, for what it’s worth, Lenoir has been showing up in these practices:

Oh, Benson Mayowa, we hardly knew ye. All joking aside here is Dallas’ sack leader v.s. the eater of worlds:

How about some more compete period? It’s everyone’s favorite:

La’el Collins will not stand for getting beat more than twice though...

Richard Ash gets activated and then gets through Travis Frederick? What are we seeing?

Stephen Paea has looked surprisingly strong in his compete period reps:

Here is a really nice spin from Tyrone Crawford on La’el Collins, looked pretty nasty:

Dak was looking pretty sharp on his birthday:

That’s definitely not Dez, it’s Dak with the comeback to Williams:

Byron Jones makes a heck of a play but he was out of bounds:

That’s okay because next up, he’s making another great play:

Though Byron forced a field goal, do not play with Bay...ley.

We finally have a Noah Brown sighting!

Just throw it to Witten in the flat, he’s open:

The offense fought back but the defense got some quality wins today, Dave Helman agrees:

That’s a wrap for today, we’ll be looking into the Jourdan Lewis injury and its extent. Stay tuned to BTB for any updates. We’ll leave you with our own McCool in the walk-off:
