The Dallas Cowboys head into their third preseason game of the 2017 schedule, but their first one at home. The team returns to Texas after spending the early portion of training camp in Oxnard, CA.
This is the game that the Cowboys starters might really play. We’ve seen a sprinkling of starters in different places like the offensive line, but this week we should see Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant and most of the starters. They probably won’t play long, but they should see some action.
Also seeing action, and maybe the biggest story of the game, is Jaylon Smith. Cowboys fans have been patiently awaiting the day the second-round pick in the 2016 draft would hit the field in a competitive game, and Saturday looks like the day. Smith has done all the rehab work, he’s been getting work in practices during training camp, on Saturday he should get the opportunity to prove to everyone he can still play football at a high level.
Strap in, while it may be just another preseason game, there are plenty of reasons to watch.
