[UPDATE 10 pm CDT] The preliminary report is that the injury to Crawford may not be as severe as first feared.

[UPDATE 10:15 pm CDT] It looks like Crawford may be ready for regular season.

Tyrone Crawford suffered an ankle injury today at training camp, he was carted off the field after this play:

The injury happened towards the end of practice during team drills. Crawford got tangled up with Ezekiel Elliott and landed awkwardly. There is no definitive report yet, but this picture does not look good at all.

We’re not exactly sure about the specifics of the injury but it doesn’t look to be good for the Cowboys. Crawford has been one of those guys that can give them pass rush wherever they need to play him. He’s been having a strong camp and has shown himself as one of the better pass rushers but once again, he’s going to miss some time.

If this is what it looks like, it is the first major injury for the Cowboys since camp began. On the positive side, the team has a lot of depth at defensive end should Crawford miss an extended amount of time. However, the suspensions of David Irving and Damontre Moore could lead to some issues early in the season.
