Fans of the Dallas Cowboys, the time is here! The Cowboys will host the New York Giants on Sunday night to open the 2017 NFL season for both teams. It doesn’t get any better than that (well, except the playoffs and Super Bowls, but still, this is pretty dang good).
The Cowboys got the news that Ezekiel Elliott will play, not only this week but probably the whole season, so he will probably be very fired up to get on the field. Could we see him bust out in a big way? Dak Prescott will get his initial run as a “sophomore” on Sunday, will he dispel the “slump” questions that you keep hearing about? The Cowboys offense is a juggernaut and their offensive line is among the best around, but the Giants are a top-notch defense. They have the horses to challenge the Cowboys’ offense, last year they held them in check - twice. The offense will be looking for some revenge.
The Cowboys defense is a question mark. Jaylon Smith is supposed to get the start at middle linebacker, an unbelievable development given where he was with his injury. The Cowboys will be missing David Irving, but we’ll keep our eyes on first-round pick Taco Charlton to see if he can get things going. The Cowboys secondary has some new faces and some rookies who might get some playing time. It’s a mystery as to how well the whole unit will play, but if they can get their game elevated, the Cowboys will be hard to beat.
Here’s your info for the game.
