Fantasy Football 2017 waiver wire: Best pickups for week three of NFL action

Looking for the next big move in your fantasy league? We’ve got some advice.

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterbacks

Jay Cutler, owned in 29% of Yahoo leagues

Cutler got the ‘W’ in week one and this week he gets a favorable matchup with the lowly Jets. The Jets are giving up the sixth-most points to quarterbacks.

Jared Goff, owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues

Goff took the loss in week two against the Redskins but the 49ers are up next. Look for Goff to have a rebound in week three.

Running Backs

Chris Thompson, owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues

We told you to pick him up last week and he makes the list again. Thompson has a nose for the end zone as he went off for 22+ fantasy points this week. Two weeks straight of outperforming his projections.

D’Onta Foreman, owned in 7% of Yahoo leagues

The Texans draw the Patriots this week but New England is giving up the most points to running backs. Foreman should start becoming a bigger part of the Houston offense.

Wide Receivers

Marqise Lee, owned in 34% of Yahoo leagues

Another repeat here but Lee had 12 targets this past week and caught seven of them. He’s Blake Bortles number one target and should give receiver-needy teams some production.

Devin Funchess, owned in 13% of Yahoo leagues

His targets have started to go up as he’s become a bigger part of the Panthers offense. This week he goes up against the Saints, who have given up the second-most points to receivers.

Tight End

Benjamin Watson, owned in 1% of Yahoo Leagues

He just put up nine points against the Browns and gets to play the Jaguars next. Though Jacksonville has improved defensively, Joe Flacco loves throwing the ball to Watson, who caught all eight targets for 91 yards.

Defense

Philadelphia Eagles, owned in 26% of Yahoo leagues

The Eagles have a ferocious pass rush and get the Giants this week. Seeing what the Cowboys did to that offensive line, the Eagles will likely feast on their divisional foe.

Kicker

Greg Zuerlein, owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

He’s likely to rack up the points in this game against the 49ers who give up the 10th most points to kickers.
