The Dallas Cowboys have many vacancies to fill on their coaching staff. According to a report from David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, one of those spots has been filled.
Sources: Cowboys have reached an agreement with Sanjay Lal to become the team’s WR coach. Lal was with Indianapolis last season and replaces Derek Dooley on the staff.— David Moore (@DavidMooreDMN) January 17, 2018
Sanjay Lal is the new Cowboys wide receivers coach (awaits for crowd applause).
It’s interesting looking at the drafts Lal’s teams have had during his first seasons with each team. In each of his first two stops (Oakland and New York) the team took a receiver high in the draft (Darrius Heyward-Bey and Stephen Hill).
Dallas has approached this offseason with the goal of making the offense Dak-friendly. Maybe that means drafting a receiver in the top of the draft (Calvin Ridley, anyone?) or maybe that means implementing whatever Sanjay Lal has up his sleeve.
Whatever Sanjay has cooking, it appears the Cowboys believe it is Dak-friendly, as he is the new wide receivers coach.
