Richard was recently fired by the Seahawks who, like the Cowboys, are in the midst of turning over some of their coaching staff. Richard worked with the defensive backs before he took over as defensive coordinator once Dan Quinn he left for the Atlanta Falcons job. Richard had a big hand in the Legion of Boom glory days in Seattle, but with the team stumbling to a 9-7 record this past season, coach Pete Carroll decided to turn over both coordinator positions. Richard had been with Carroll all the way back to his days at USC.
With the Richard interview, the Cowboys have interviewed three former defensive coordinators for spots on their staff. Previously they had talked to John Pagano and Ray Horton. They certainly won't lack for experience on that side of the ball if they hire any of those guys.
