Sifting through the hype.

So this weeks Cowboys team played like the team we thought we were going to see week 1. That is Awesome, even if it is October and not September. Better late than never!

With that said, I have posted before that I am more excited about this years Defense than I have been in a decade or more. It's a shame Tony Romo never had a team with a defense that could hold a team under 20 points consistently. We would most certainly have a few more rings if that was the case.

The Hot Boys are for real!

On offense. I am not sure if the coaching staff has been trying to turn Dak Prescott into a pocket passer, or if has been on Dak choosing not to run when he can't make a read fast enough, but this week is just another example of how much better this offense runs when Dak plays freely. He has a special raport with Beasly, and it is exciting to watch, but it could also be much better. I saw some great gains, and I saw frustration from Cole. Dak is getting the ball to him, but just off enough that Cole has to stop to make the catch. A few nice gains could have been huge if he hits Cole in stride.

Another offensive observation. I have seen at least 3 games where Jeff Swain makes a great catch, and tacks on YAC. He is big, and hard to bring down. But he gets one target a game. Blake Jarwin had an opportunity yesterday, and while some analysts say he was "late with his hands", he actually had alligator arms, and pulled his hands in, anticipating getting hit.

Give the ball to Swain. He may not be Jason Witten, but he has shown himself to deserve more looks, and it might help to keep the opposing defense even more off ballance.

Week 6 was great. Let us hope they don't change the offense again next week. 2 in a row?
