Cowboys Poll: Which linebacker should see more time, Sean Lee or Leighton Vander Esch?

What should the Cowboys do at linebacker?

It seems incredibly likely that Sean Lee will return to the field this Sunday when the Cowboys take on the Washington Redskins. For the first time ever, the Cowboys defense isn’t aching for his return, as rookie Leighton Vander Esch has been spectacular filling in. In fact, he’s been the best rookie linebacker so far.

Dallas is certainly eager to get a veteran as talented as Lee back on the field. When they line up in their base 4-3 formations, they could possibly get Lee on the field at the same time as Vander Esch. They would need to move LVE to the strong side in that situation assuming Jaylon Smith stays in the middle, relegating Damien Wilson to the bench. When they switch to a nickel package, they’ll have to choose between linebackers if we assume that Jaylon Smith will stay on the field for most of the snaps. The Cowboys will have to do some swapping of positions, but in the end who should get the majority of the snaps next to Smith, Lee or Vander Esch?
