NFL Week 8 game-by-game predictions: Cowboys on a bye but the NFL goes on

Cowboys fans have to wait until Week 9 to see their shiny new toy, Amari Cooper, dazzle on the field. That’s a while away considering Dallas plays the final game of that week on a Monday night. So even without the Cowboys the NFL still runs out a schedule, and they have called it Week 8.

As we do each week, we predict the winners of each game. So far Dave Halprin (71-34) has a four-game lead over over OCC (67-38). But as we always say, there is plenty of football left to be played (well, we say that now, we won’t be saying that in December). That leaves plenty of time for others to catch up and take the lead.

This week’s games feature many unanimous favorites or close to unanimous. Unanimous picks include Kansas City over Denver, Los Angeles (Rams) over Green Bay, Chicago over New York (Jets), Cincinnati over Tampa Bay, Indianapolis over Oakland, and New England over Buffalo. That’s six games the panel is unanimous on, the most this season.

In the NFC East the panel sees the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Jacksonville Jaguars, eight picks to two. The panel also likes NFC East leader Washington to defeat New York, Giants that is, eight picks to two.
