Shortly after the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday horrible news hit the team. Michael Gallup’s brother had died as a result of suicide.
Gallup’s status in the Cowboys game this Thursday against the Washington Redskins immediately became unknown due to him taking a leave of absence to be with his family. This is something that transcends football and it goes without saying that the Gallup family has been in all of our thoughts.
It’s Tuesday and the reality of a Thursday game is that it’s a short week. Almost 48 hours away from kickoff it’s been reported that Michael Gallup intends to play on Thanksgiving after all.
Cowboys rookie WR Michael Gallup intends to play in Thursday's game against Washington on Thanksgiving at AT&T Stadium. Gallup remains in Georgia with his family while arrangements for his brother's funeral are still pending. The team has offered support in every way.

Michael Gallup is a rookie and his team is vying for a division title, but again what’s happening with his family is a much bigger deal than all of that in the grand scheme of life. Nobody would have questioned his decision not to play had it come to that, but it appears that he’s made his choice.
Our thoughts continue to be with Michael Gallup and his family.
