Last Friday, we were 48 hours away from the Dallas Cowboys playing their biggest game of the season in Atlanta.
Of course, we were also five days removed from the previous biggest game of their season in Philadelphia which they won. There were many that doubted the Cowboys would beat the Falcons as well, and even if they did there were even less that thought they could carry that hypothetical momentum into a Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Redskins.
Or were there?
Cowboys fans foresaw these last two wins
Before the Cowboys even traveled to Atlanta we ran a poll here at BTB. With the team sitting just a game below .500 (how many times have you heard that this season?) we asked a simple question: what would the team’s record be seven days from now?
There were three options (ties are dumb). Dallas could split the games like they’ve been known to do and wind up 5-6. If you were feeling more pessimistic you had the choice of saying they’d be 4-7 having lost two in a row, but if you were on the opposite side of that spectrum you could have predicted a 6-5 record which would have meant three wins in a row for the club.
Here we sit, seven days later, and only one group of people were correct. The majority.

What will the Cowboys record be this time next week?

66% of voters believed the Cowboys would win both of their games over the next seven days just like the team wound up doing. There are many Cowboys fans who feel that the fan base can often be too pessimistic, consider this a lesson that optimism not only exists but is fair and warranted in this particular case.
There’s no denying that the Cowboys season has taken a drastic turn from the last time they lost almost an entire month ago, but they definitely do seem to have some qualities worth believing in. Good for those that did.
