We check in with BTB colleague Tony Casillas, a former Cowboys player, on his take after the beatdown from the Colts. Here’s what Tony had to say:
December is historically the time when teams either lock up their playoff fate or start booking vacations, or tee times. For the Cowboys, it’s time to lock up the NFC East. They could have done it in Sunday’s game vs the Colts, a game I thought the Cowboys would win, but the Colts shut them out 23-0 ending the Cowboys five-game winning streak. Right now there is only one game that matters, beating Tampa Bay on Sunday. Basically, this time of the year, every team is banged up, fighting through injuries but the best pain reliever is winning a meaningful game, winning your division, and feeling confident about how you are playing... and hopefully resting some players the last game of the season.
The playoffs are realistically another season. The energy level goes through the roof, it elevates the energy like it was Week One of the regular season. As a former player and being part of the great Cowboys team of the 90’s, we knew how to finish. Win one game, win the division, post-season play! For this team on Sunday, it’s time to finish! - Tony Casillas
We also have the latest edition of the 75O, the BTB show featuring Tony Casillas and RJ Ochoa. They try to decide if Cowboys fans should be worried after the debacle from last Sunday.
