Unfortunately, every day we get just a little bit closer to the end of the NFL season. We’re already at Week 14 for crying out loud.
Before we know it it’ll be time for the Super Bowl and the Cowboys may or may not be getting ready to play in it (fingers crossed, right?). The night before the big game will hold the annual NFL Honors show where various accolades will be handed out, the new Pro Football Hall of Fame class will be announced, and the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award winner will be announced.
This is the most prestigious award that an NFL player can win off of the field as it celebrates charitable and philanthropic work in communities. Three members of the Dallas Cowboys (Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, and Jason Witten) have all taken home this award before and on Thursday the league announced this year’s nominees.
Dak Prescott is the Dallas Cowboys nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
The work that Dak does in his fight against cancer is well-chronicled, just Thursday night he posted an update at how much money he’d raised towards the “Pic Your Power” challenge he’d made the rounds for months ago. He’s one of the more giving members of the Cowboys.
It’s not just his own projects that Dak is generous towards. When Ezekiel Elliott donated $21,000 to the Salvation Army following the duo’s Thanksgiving Day performance/celebration, Dak decided to match him and donate proceeds from a t-shirt towards the cause as well.
Dak Prescott announced on his Instagram that he’s going to match @EzekielElliott’s $21k donation to the @SalvationArmyUS and that all proceeds from this limited edition shirt will also go to them.

Dak Prescott is a great guy and humanitarian. He’s more than worthy nominee for this honor. Good luck to him throughout the rest of the season and in this endeavor.
