Earlier this week we talked about how important it was, as far as discerning what the Cowboys are planning, that Jason Garrett and Co. went to Alabama for a workout with Crimson Tide draftees.
The history of such a move suggests the Cowboys are heavily considering drafting an Alabama player in the first round, and there are definitely a lot to choose from. Jason Garrett’s physical presence at pro days and workouts means a lot, and we have another one to dissect.
Jason Garrett was at the SMU pro day watching wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

Not only was Jason Garrett there, he was the only head coach there. That’s noteworthy.
Of course, SMU is right down the road for Jason Garrett. This isn’t as big of news as he and his contingents traveling to Tuscaloosa, but it certainly is worth paying attention to.
Dallas has now shown legitimate interest in Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk, Alabama’s Calvin Ridley, and SMU’s Courtland Sutton. It certainly stands to reason that they are planning on taking a receiver early on in the draft.

Maryland’s DJ Moore is another name that Cowboys fans are holding out hope for, and for what it’s worth he is one of the team’s 30 visits. Whether in the first round of the draft or on day two, it looks like there will definitely be a highly-touted receiver joining the Cowboys in about a month.
