Charlotte Jones Anderson told Derwin James she hoped Dallas was fortunate enough to get him

Well that’s interesting.

It’s taken a long time to reach the 2018 NFL Draft, but we’re knocking on the door of things finally getting going.

While the draft doesn’t technically begin until Thursday evening, there have been festivities taking place in the Arlington area throughout the entire week. The Cowboys are playing host, and as typical in situations where that’s the case, Charlotte Jones Anderson is serving as a point-woman of sorts.

The First Lady of the Dallas Cowboys has indeed been operating the welcome wagon, and as a result she’s been seen doing tons of interviews and greeting players. On Wednesday she spoke with Florida State’s Derwin James in a video that was posted on the Cowboys official Instagram story.

It’s a bit muddled, but Charlotte Jones Anderson tells Derwin James that she’s hopeful the Cowboys are fortunate enough to land him. That’s certainly interesting.

The original video was actually deleted from the Cowboys IG story, but CowboysCasts’s Bobby Belt posted it to Twitter before it was lost forever.

Does this comment necessarily indicate that the Cowboys are all-in on Derwin? Of course not. Does this even indicate that the Cowboys are more interested in Derwin James than we have thought they were all along? That’s also unlikely.

For all we know this is Charlotte Jones Anderson just being polite to a draftee, but the fact that it was deleted is certainly interesting, and interesting comments on the eve of the draft are a little bit more interesting than any other time.
