The draft is a few weeks in the rearview mirror, but talent acquisition is a never-ending process in the NFL.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys worked out 13 players on Wednesday:
- Trevor Knight, QB
- Sherman Badie, RB
- Keyarris Garrett, WR
- Taj Williams, WR
- Damien Mama, OL
- Isaiah Williams, OT
- Darius Latham, DT
- Austin Ocasio, LB
- Reggie Hall, CB
- Prince Sam, CB
- Eric Pinkins, S
- Richie Sampson, S
- Kisahawn McClain, S
Archer reports that the Cowboys aren’t expected to sign any of these players at the time, but it never hurts to kick tires. It’s worth jotting names down for the future months as we’re still a few months away from regular season action.
It is worth noting that out of the 13 players, five of them play in the secondary and three of them are safeties. The Cowboys are still turning over every rock looking for possible safety help. The question is will they just go out and get a veteran at some point to help solidify things in the back of the defense.
The Cowboys are already one of the younger teams in the NFL. There’s going to be a lot of new faces on the team as it is, if there are any more new ones, people might start needing to wear name tags.
