Earlier this month, a bad case of deja vu rolled into the Dallas Cowboys camp when defensive tackle Maliek Collins broke his left foot.
Maliek’s injury isn’t considered to be too devastating, he didn’t miss any time two years ago when it happened to his right foot. It’s expected that the Cowboys will get him back some time around August, which means right about now he’s got to be in the process of rehabbing.
Collins is obviously absent from OTAs due to his injury, but he’s not taking any time off. He posted a video to his Instagram story on Tuesday of him working the stationary bike. You can see a boot on his injured foot.

There are an array of options for the interior of the defensive line in Maliek’s absence. David Irving will obviously be expected to contribute as soon as he gets himself in shape, and the Cowboys did trade for Jihad Ward who could wind up being something of note (crosses fingers).
It’s good to see Maliek doing what he can in his limited physical state. Hurry up, August.
