Cowboys 2018 training camp: All the sights & sounds from the Cowboys first practice in Oxnard

We’ve made it to training camp, here’s the social media highlights from the first practice.

We finally made it to Cowboys training camp! Every day, this great forum will be flooded with training camp talk and we’re here to give you the social media highlights from each practice.

Before we begin, keep in mind the following from Todd Archer about the Cowboys plans for this first week:

The crowd isn’t that hot right now (be it Thursday and all) but wait until the weekend, Mr. George:

Side bar: Happy Birthday, Xavier Woods! Maybe a starting role will be his birthday present:

Can you say “FAKED”?

Speaking of the wide receivers, there will be a lot of route concept work for all involved:

Someone will need to fill the vocal leadership aspect that was left void when Dez Bryant left:

Back to the linebackers, first-rounder Leighton Vander Esch was looking good after dealing with an ankle injury during OTA’s and minicamp. Coach Garrett compared him to Brian Urlacher today, no big deal:

Excitement is high after last week’s breaking news, check out Randy Gregory making his way out on the field:

The best thing about the Randy Gregory news is that he certainly doesn’t look like a guy that will take a long time to get into shape:

Gregory wasn’t the only pass rusher to get excited about, DeMarcus Lawrence was out there revved up and ready to go after a career season in 2017:

Don’t forget about Taco Charlton, he’s flying under the radar right now?

Another grand entrance for the Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott makes his way out onto the Oxnard fields:

As important as the QB is, these guys are the backbone of this team and have been for a while:

And with this next guy, the trifecta is complete, Ezekiel Elliott, ladies and gents! Every fan loves them some 21:

The lead dog is all about business:

Could Elliott possible be that vocal leader that Cole Beasley was talking about?

There will certainly be a lot of this happening in 2018:

We have our first sighting of rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup, here he is with a grab from Cooper Rush:

Could Cole Beasley turn back time to 2016 and be the Cowboys leading receiver? He and Dak sure hope so:

Another point of interest is at tight end and the Cowboys are very high on Mr. Blake Jarwin as a pass-catching threat for the offense:

Speaking of tight ends, there’s no Mike Pope drills but the guys were out catching tennis balls today:

There were two players that got dinged up and Chaz Green got the worst of it. Of course, we’ll continue to monitor that situation:

Offseason standout Lance Lenoir appears to be alright:

We’ll end practice with defensive side of the ball, Kris Richard had his guys working to be more physical at the point of attack. A physical secondary is imperative for a Richard-led defense.

Yesterday on “Talkin’ Cowboys”, Nick Eatman believed that the Cowboys would walk away from 2018 with the top cornerback tandem in the NFL. Fellow colleague, David Helman added a little fuel to it. It’s going to be an exciting unit to watch:
