Report: Cedrick Wilson left Saturday’s practice with a shoulder injury

Not ideal, but not the end of the world.

One of the harder position groups to accurately predict when building Cowboys 53-man rosters is wide receiver.

Consensus says that Allen Hurns, Cole Beasley, and Michael Gallup are all safe. Tavon Austin is as well if you want to count him there. There are many that, for contractual reasons, have penciled Terrance Williams into the group. Lance Lenoir, Noah Brown, Deonte Thompson, and Cedrick Wilson are fighting it out for what remaining spots there will be.

Rookie Michael Gallup has been making a name for himself early on throughout camp, but he wasn’t the only receiver that the team drafted. Cedrick Wilson got off to a rough start during the first day in pads when he reportedly left practice early due to a shoulder injury.

The report notes that for now the injury isn’t expected to be serious. That’s great news for a rookie that has a lot of work ahead of him. Wilson joins Kavon Frazier and Chaz Green as Cowboys to deal with injury-related issues early on out in Oxnard.

Here’s to hoping there aren’t any more reports like this.
