The collective breath of Cowboys fans everywhere was held extremely tightly on Sunday until results of Zack Martin’s MRI came in.
Thankfully the best guard in football is alright. His injury scare was the second of the week involving a premier Cowboys offensive linemen, coincidentally enough neither of them featured Tyron Smith.
Yes, Travis Frederick had a “stinger” that worried people while the team was still in California. He saw a specialist in Los Angeles and it seemed like all was well, not saying that all isn’t well, but Fredbeard is going to get some more information if he can.
Pro Bowl center Travis Frederick will see another specialist today and another tomorrow as the Cowboys continue to dry to get a handle on his neck stingers...no slam dunk for opener like Zack Martin— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) August 20, 2018
C Travis Frederick is getting 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinions on his neck stinger issues...Jason Garrett is hopeful for a positive result.— Bill Jones (@CBS11BillJones) August 20, 2018
The Cowboys travel to take on the Carolina Panthers in less than three weeks for the season opener. Frederick and Martin are cornerstones of what they do offensively, they need them healthy if there’s any hope of success in 2018.
The initial prognosis of Travis’ situation was that he simply needed to rest. Hopefully more opinions validate that and we can put this whole thing behind us.
