Check out the Cowboys fight at practice with DeMarcus Lawrence throwing a haymaker

Things are getting chippy at Cowboys practices.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys-OTA Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys must be ready to play some real football. Even the pseudo-real preseason games against the 49ers and the Bengals must not be enough to release their aggression. We say that because the offensive line and the defensive line got into at today’s practice.

Tyrone Crawford must be hyped up about his move back to defensive tackle, because he got into it with reserve Kadeem Edwards. They were working 1-on-1 in a compete drill and things went off the rails as Crawford gave Edwards a little extra shove. Edwards gives Crawford a pop to the helmet then DeMarcus Lawrence goes a little crazy.

We would like to say to DeMarcus Lawrence - don’t hurt yourself big guy! Swinging that paw around like that at someone’s helmet is a good way to break a hand.

Also at today’s practice, David Helman with the description:

Nice battle between rookie guard Connor Williams and defensive tackle Antwaun Woods in the “compete” drill. The defense erupted when Woods pushed Williams back and down onto the turf. But the following rep, Williams held his leverage and prevented Woods from penetrating the pocket.

At least this one was legit with no fighting, but it is physical.

Thanks are getting feisty! Time for real football.

P.S. - Don’t be fooled by the “Zack Martin back in pads” note in the tweet above. Yes, he was in pads which is awesome, and yes he said he is going to play in the opener. But he was only doing rehab today, he was not participating in practice.
