The speculation and rumors continue to swirl around Randy Gregory and his status with the Cowboys. Ever since Jason La Confara tweeted out on Sunday night that further trouble could be on the way for Gregory, Cowboys fans, and apparently the team, were waiting for answers. Earlier today, the news came out that Gregory had to meet with a league doctor with the words suspension also mentioned in the report. Dark clouds started to form, but it may not be anything that serious.
First, Bobby Belt reminded us that at any time as part of the Stage 3 program that Gregory is in, the league might schedule a meeting with the player to discuss his treatment plan.

This meeting may be no more than that. As Jori Epstein and David Moore report. there was no formal complaint that prompted the meeting.
Gregory is regularly re-evaluating his clinical resources in the program to ensure his treatment plan is compliant with the Substance Abuse Policy and Program requirements.
No formal disciplinary complaint had been filed as of Thursday morning, the source said, regarding or resulting from any alleged violation. The meeting, similarly, was not the result of a complaint.
Gregory is reportedly trying ot catch a plane to be with the team tonight in Houston. Also noted in the Epstein/Moore article, Gregory could miss practices or meetings if he has schedule conflicts with his treatment program. The aftercare requirements take precedence.
We don’t have a formal all clear about Gregory’s status yet, but it sure sounds a lot less ominous than it might have earlier today.
