Cowboys 2018 training camp: Blue/White scrimmage recap with photos & videos

Highlights from the Blue/White scrimmage

NFL: Dallas Cowboys-Training Camp Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cowboys had their annual Blue/White scrimmage today, let’s revisit some of the highlights. Before we get to the live hitting, Jason Garrett was asked a few pertinent questions prior to practice.

Camp standout Chidobe Awuzie limped off the field yesterday but it seems as it’s not too serious:

Dan Bailey didn’t exactly finish the 2017 season on a high note which could also be said about his past two practices. Garrett is giving him the benefit of the doubt:

BTB’s own RJ Ochoa weighed in on Dan Bailey and why we shouldn’t be too concerned at this point:

Alright onto bigger things and back on the practice field. These guys are going to have a lot of eyes on them, lots of new faces to get used to:

We’re finally going to get to see some tackling!

Well...we’ll get to see some guys tackle but not everyone:

The Cowboys practiced the pre-game warm-up:

The Cowboys were working with Joe Looney at center with the ones as Travis Frederick was resting:

Starting off the day by giving the ball to Ezekiel Elliott:

Marquez White becomes the latest defensive back to add an interception in camp:

Dak Prescott got into a rhythm early with his receivers:

Rico Gathers the beneficiary of a Prescott throw:

Almost the same exact play from Cooper Rush to Rico Gathers:

Dak to Allen Hurns...TOUCHDOWN!

The 214 connection is alive and well...TOUCHDOWN Ezekiel Elliott:

Mike White delivering the ball to Bo Scarbrough:

We’ll continue to monitor the situation but Antwaun Woods may have some hamstring tightness:

“Sit on ‘em, Rod!!” Dak Prescott to Rod Smith for an easy score:

How about a reverse to Tavon Austin?

Dak goes down the seam to Geoff Swaim...TOUCHDOWN!

How about that Blake Jarwin?

Taco Charlton limped off for a minute but he seems to be okay:

So far Dan Bailey has been good on two PAT’s:

The offense is on a tear today both first and second team:

Let’s get back to the ones for a moment:

Oh my! Touchdown for Zeke:

Second team was back in and Lance Lenoir did his thing!

The offense dominated the red-zone drills but it was a different story when we went into two-minute drill:

Finally after a period where the offense was bludgeoning the defense, Anthony Brown picks off Dak and takes it in for a PICK-6!

Back with the two’s, Tavon Austin schools the rookie Charvarius Ward for the TD!:

That would be the best play any offense made because the takeaways came in bunches, starting with the G.O.A.T. Jeff Heath with his vintage tip-drill, this time off Dak:

Much was the same for the second and third team offenses too:

Dalton Sturm finally got a shot to play quarterback...it didn’t go well.

It was a sloppy second half to practice for the offense...so many turnovers and four of which were scores for the defense.

To signal the end of practice, Zack Martin decided to field a punt!

Though the defense got the last laugh, the Cowboys offense dominated for the first half of the day. It was mainly a lot of sloppiness, badly placed footballs, and mishaps by some receivers that caused such a lopsided ending. There will be lots to clean up before the Cowboys take on the 49ers in their first exhibition game.
