The Dallas Cowboys got together today for their first practice of the week as they prepare to take on an NFC East rival, the New York Giants, on Sunday night. Along with that comes an injury report, and while the news might be frightening at first, it’s really not that bad.
Dak Prescott (ankle) practiced today. 3 from Cowboys DL did not. Travis Frederick (GBS) said his workout regiment, numbness are same as last week pic.twitter.com/uF244cJ7Cj— Jori Epstein (@JoriEpstein) September 12, 2018
As you may have noticed, DeMarcus Lawrence did not practice today with a groin injury. Apparently, though, that was just being extra-cautious, as it’s reported he will be back on the practice field tomorrow and this is not supposed to hamper him in any way for Sunday.
Dak Prescott also has an ankle injury, but he went ahead and practiced. Xavier Woods is still not practicing as he tries to recover from his hamstring injury and Datone Jones is still out with a knee issue. Kavon Frazier says he got through the game fine and doesn’t expect his shoulder injury to hold him back, but he did injure his thumb. Still, he practiced.
Missing from today was Randy Gregory, as was reported earlier today, because he is still in the concussion protocol. Coach Garrett sounded optimistic that he will be able to go on Sunday. Travis Frederick is still out with his illness, and the timeline on that isn’t any clearer.
Over at the Giants facility, Olivier Vernon did not practice today as he is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain. WR Sterling Shepard and RB Wayne Gallman were limited.
