Fourth Quarter

Cowboys get one more shot, Dak Prescott gets stripped, picks it up, and tosses it away to save the drive. Dak then connects on a dime to...Ezekiel Elliott on a 34-yard beauty to set up the game-winning field goal by the G.O.A.T. Brett Maher! Cowboys 214 connection puts up over 400 yards of offense today! Cowboys win 26-24!

Lions find busted coverage by defensive backs and snag the lead quickly with a 38-yard TD to Golden Tate. Lions take the lead 24-23.

Cowboys driving with Ezekiel Elliott who is up over 200 total yards from scrimmage. The drive also sees Dak Prescott get past 200 yards passing. Cowboys can’t punch it in the end zone and settle for 3. Cowboys lead 23-17.

Lions with the ball and they march right down the field with 7-plays and 75-yards after some busted coverage by the secondary and Kerryon Johnson puts it in on 1st and Goal. Cowboys lead 20-17.

Third Quarter

Cowboys have a couple of penalties go their way and then a few that don’t Cowboys punt it back to the Lions, inside their own 15, on 3rd down, DeMarcus Lawrence gets his second sack to force the punt.

Dallas takes over at their own 35, Zeke gets fed to the tune of 50-yards, well over 100 on the day. Cole Beasley on the third-down slant is down one yard short at the DET-1 but Cowboys ARE GOING FOR IT, FAM! Elliott up the middle-FUMBLE-Blake Jarwin recovers it in the end zone for the TD! Wait..no TD? Refs blow the play dead after Zeke gets the first down.

So, Dak says “Okay, Lions crash the box so I can toss this bad boy.” Dak to Geoff Swaim for the TD! Cowboys lead 20-13.

Second Quarter

Things got a little spicy for the Cowboys in the second quarter as the Detroit Lions connected on another touchdown to give them a lead.

Tavon Austin suffered a stinger early on, but thankfully it appears all is well. The best news from the quarter is that the Cowboys scored a touchdown! Seriously!

Let’s hope for more of this!

First Quarter

The Cowboys won the toss and the DEFERRED?

The first offensive appearances for both the Lions and Cowboys end in punts. The Cowboys had Ezekiel Elliott trip on third down. Lions second drive ends in a punt, Cowboys were on the move as Dak Prescott connects with Geoff Swaim for 31-yards on play-action on a first down, no less. Dak then hits the deep ball to Michael Gallup for 37-yards and we’re in the red zone! Facing 3rd and 9, Dak and Gallup can’t connect, Brett Maher puts a 32-yarder in for the three points.

As the first quarter comes to a close, Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis slips on 3rd and 3, Golden Tate scampers for 40+ yards and the touchdown. Dallas trails Detroit 7-3.

Pregame

The Cowboys are set to take on the Detroit Lions, here are the inactives for each squad:

Cowboys:

The big news, if you will, Brice Butler is up, here’s who is sitting down:

WR Terrance Williams, LB Sean Lee, QB Mike White, C Travis Frederick, G Xavier Su’a-Filo, TE Dalton Schultz, and DT Maliek Collins

Lions:

DE Ziggy Ansah, TE Michael Roberts, RB Ameer Abdullah, CB DeShawn Shead, G Joe Dahl, DE Kerry Hyder Jr., WR Brandon Powell

The Dallas Cowboys host the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a huge game for both organizations. Each teams comes in at 1-2 on the season and are looking to to even their record and get back into serious contention for the playoffs.

The Cowboys hope to finally get their offense going. Last week, they were able to get Ezekiel Elliott going, but the passing game faltered and mistakes everywhere kept the point production down. This week, they face a Lions defense that is the worst in the league against the run, so you will definitely see a healthy dose of Zeke. Ultimately, though, the Cowboys and Dak Prescott will have to put together a viable passing attack to win the game, even is it’s just to complement the run game.

The Cowboys defense had a little bit of a let down last week after two stellar outings in the first two weeks. The pass rush wasn’t able to take advantage of an injured and sub-par Seahawks offensive line; they’ll need to do better this week versus veteran Matthew Stafford. The Lions finally got a 100-yard rusher last week, so they are hoping they finally have balance.

It’s a big game for both teams.
