When the final injury report for the Cowboys and Panthers game came came out on Friday afternoon, Carolina’s stud tight end Greg Olsen was not on it. He is now.
Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen was added to the injury report Saturday due to a back injury and is considered questionable, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
While the severity of the injury is not yet known, additions to the injury report this late in the week are usually not encouraging.
It is quite unusual for a player to be added on a Saturday. Since Carolina did that, there must be a serious question about his availability. Even if he does go he could be limited. If this wasn’t a significant issue, they would have likely done nothing.
Olsen is a top target for Cam Newton along with Devin Funchess. If he can’t go, that would certainly be an advantage for the Cowboys. Olsen has battled injuries in recent seasons and is an older player by NFL standards at 33-years-old. Rookie Ian Thomas would be asked to step up if Olsen can’t go.
