Friday has been full of Scott Linehan news as the Dallas Cowboys officially moved on from their offensive coordinator. Linehan had five years of service with the Cowboys which is quite a lot. There are a lot of relationships built in half a decade.
Upon departure, Linehan issued a statement through the Cowboys. He bids farewell and seems at peace with the decision.
Linehan notes that he and Jason Garrett spoke on Wednesday. This lines up with the timeline reported in the mysterious “prominent” offensive assistant coach that the Cowboys were in discussions with. It would make sense that they were seeking out a new offensive coordinator.
Here’s to the best being ahead for Scott Linehan. There were definitely good times during his days in Dallas, and we’ll all always have the magical seasons of 2014 and 2016. Nobody ever wants to see someone get fired, but sometimes change is necessary.
