The Dallas Cowboys won a playoff game on Saturday night, but it came at a bit of an unfortunate price. Wide receiver Allen Hurns suffered one of the more gruesome injuries you’ll ever see during the game (don’t look up replays unless you’re prepared).
It was obvious right away that the remainder of Hurns’ season - however long the Cowboys continue in the playoffs - was done. Injuries are horrible when they happen to anyone and they hit harder when it’s one of our players. Hurns was carted off of the field and people were left wondering what his status was.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter updated the world after the Cowboys won. Hurns has already had surgery and he’s expected to return in August. That’s seven months from now.
Cowboys’ WR Allen Hurns already has undergone surgery on his dislocated ankle injury that ended his season, per source. As difficult as the injury was to see, Hurns is expected to be ready to return to football by August if there no complications or anything out of the ordinary.

We’ll see how things go with Allen and the Cowboys over the course of the offseason. His role was already diminished from what we thought it would be entering the season, but if he’s able to get healthy he can certainly contribute.
For now the most important thing is Allen’s health. We’re all wishing him the best and for a speedy and pain-free recovery.
