The Good, The Bad, and the Game

Well the Cowboys be answered the challenge in front of them and control their destiny for the NFC East!

The Good

They won decisively! I was really expecting a dog fight, and there were a few moments when I actually expected them to regress and let the Eagles back into it, but they held up well.

#1. TURN OVERS- FINALLY!

Oh how I have been waiting...... Forced fumbles, AND an Interception! I loved it.

Zeke ate against a team that statistically was a top run Defense. (One reason I don't go to the stat book often in these posts)

He ran like the player that was paid big money to do just that. Run against teams that game plan to stop him. He was decisive, and ran with power and purpose. Probably his best game this season.

Dak played at a high level again, and short of the one "hail mary" type pass to Austin in the End Zone once the game was pretty much locked down, he did all the things we have been wanting him to do. Reading the Defense, throwing strikes into tight areas, use his legs to pick up yards, and of course make TDs not leave us kicking FGs.

The debate over him being a solid QB worth a good payday, especially after the showing Wentz put out there, should be very quiet at this point.

Play calling. Kellen Moore had some creative plays that worked well. For the most part, they kept the defense off guard, and we moved the ball. I am a little concerned, because they stuck with running the ball on first down a lot it seemed, and luckily it worked out, but I definitely found myself on the edge of my seat a few 3rd and longs, because of that. Luckily Cobb and Cooper made some nice catches. I would have liked to see a few play action calls on first down.

The Bad.

Injuries. We took some bumps a bruises with Quinn and LVE going out. Hopefully it's nothing long term for either.

They stuck with the run on first, and it worked for us this time. My concern is that this might "validate" that for future times.

We gave up some runs down the middle again early in the game. Definitely something to watch how they do in the future. Seems to be our Achilles heal.

The Game.

We won the game decisively. Not sure if it was because we finally figured out how to play 4 quarters against a team that could have been a problem, or if Philly is just that bad.

I was glad the Refs didn't get too flag happy. They let them play it out. That was refreshing.
