The Dallas Cowboys started their game against the Green Bay Packers down a tackle as Tyron Smith suffered an ankle injury during last week’s loss to the New Orleans Saints.
During the game against the Packers, one that would also end in losing fashion, they lost the other side of their offensive line when La’el Collins went down and headed to the locker room never to return. It’s never ideal to be without both of your starting tackles, it’s an even less optimum situation when they’re as good as the ones that the Cowboys have.
So what is the situation with Collins? After the Cowboys lost to Green Bay, Jerry Jones met with the media and addressed the medical status of Collins. Apparently there’s an MCL injury going on. Uh oh.
Jerry Jones said La’el Collins suffered a MCL injury.

This is not ideal, but Jerry added that the team is not super concerned. Of course, there’s no real reason to panic until there is one.
Dallas is 3-2 and will be at the Jets next week, after that they’ll come home for the game before their bye, a huge NFC East showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hopefully La’el Collins is able to participate in those games. The Cowboys trotted out Brandon Knight when he left the game and while he wasn’t too bad, you never want to be missing one of your better players.
