Having lost two games in a row for the first time in a while, the Dallas Cowboys are desperately looking to get back into the win column. Thankfully, they visit the New York Jets this week.
Dallas is currently in the thick of the NFC playoff picture with their 3-2 record while the Jets, who have already had their bye week, have yet to win a game on the 2019 season. Things aren’t exactly going well for Adam Gase in his first year coaching the J-E-T-S and they were made all the more complicated when quarterback Sam Darnold had to miss time due to mononucleosis.
Darnold will return this week so New York will be able to pair him alongside running back Le’Veon Bell for only the second time this season. They’ll face a Cowboys defense that has plenty of people looking to return their unit to top form in DeMarcus Lawrence, Jaylon Smith, Leighton Vander Esch, and more.
Of course, the Cowboys offense is going to have to show up sooner than they did against the Green Bay Packers. Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are coming off of career-high performances last week but Ezekiel Elliott has the lowest level of production through a season’s first five games than he ever has. We’ll see just how much they all flourish in New York (New Jersey?).
