Jason Garrett had some unfortunate news during his Monday afternoon press conference. Cornerback Anthony Brown is going to have surgery on his tricep and is done for the season.
Brown has played well for the Cowboys at times since being drafted by the team in the sixth round back in 2016. Of course that means that 2019 is his fourth season in the NFL which means that has been a contract season for him. Not finishing it could be costly for him.
The Cowboys have generally used Anthony Brown in favor of Jourdan Lewis which has angered a lot of fans. You never want to see a player go down to injury, in response to Brown being hurt earlier in the season the Cowboys had to learn on Lewis and he had success.
Anthony Brown is one of two notable Cowboys cornerbacks scheduled to be free agents in the offseason with the other being Byron Jones. We’ll see how Dallas handles that situation moving forward. All the best to Anthony Brown.
