Friday brings us Jason Garrett’s final press conference before the Cowboys host the Vikings on Sunday night. (All answers are paraphrased and not actual quotes).

Amari Cooper’s status

Jason Garrett said the team is hopeful that Amari Cooper will get out and run a little bit in Friday’s practice but it won’t be a full practice. It’s just something the team will have to manage week-to-week.

Leighton Vander Esch’s status

They anticipate him practicing today, he had a good week.

Michael Gallup’s knee and how he’s played since he came back from injury earlier this year

Coach said he doesn’t think that the knee is an issue and that he’s played well since coming back from the earlier knee injury. He said Gallup is refining his route-running and can do things after the catch, he’s been a vertical threat for the team.

Workload management

These are two words that have been heavily associated with the NBA these days and Jason Garrett explained that the Cowboys have ways of monitoring the physical activity of their athletes. This is obviously a revolution in sports technology and he explained that there are some “basic numbers” that he looks like for how the team practices. There are ways of measuring how much a player runs, top speeds, and the like for example.

Sean Lee is capable of playing heavy snaps if needed

Jason Garrett noted that Sean Lee is very capable of doing anything that the Cowboys ask of him like he did on Monday night. He noted that Lee won’t practice on Friday but that that’s been part of his routine all season long.

Blue jersey jinx

Jason Garrett doesn’t really care what color jersey the Cowboys wear. Shocker.
