Jerry Jones expects Leighton Vander Esch to play on Sunday night against the Vikings

The Dallas Cowboys picked up an important divisional road win in Week 9 against the New York Giants, but they’ve got their work cut out for them in Week 10 with a home date against the Minnesota Vikings.

Dallas was without one of the better players against the G-Men as they sat linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. LVE was injured in the team’s Week 7 win (their last game before the bye) over the Philadelphia Eagles and his status has been in question all week, even though Sean Lee played remarkably well in Vander Esch’s absence.

For what it’s worth, Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan that he expects Vander Esch to suit up and play against the Vikings. He also addressed the health of Amari Cooper (Cooper got an MRI on his knee on Wednesday).

Jones says he expects Vander Esch to play Sunday after missing last week’s game against the New York Giants with a neck issue.

When it comes to Cooper’s injured knee, Jones said that Cooper has “a total clean bill of health if we were drafting him or signing him tonight.”

The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the more explosive offenses in the NFL at various points this season. While Sean Lee looked like his vintage self at MetLife Staduim on Monday night, it certainly won’t hurt the Cowboys to have the Wolf Hunter back on the field.
