To definitely win the division, the Cowboys need to win two more games this season with one of those being against the Eagles. There are other permutations for the Cowboys to win the East, but that one is pretty straight forward. So in one sense, this game against the Rams is not an absolute necessity to win. But for the Cowboys confidence, they really need to turn things around and get in the win column.
Dallas is riding a three-game losing streak and hasn’t looked particularly good in those losses. They’ve had trouble scoring when it matters, and their defense has started to look very vulnerable. Everything is trending in the wrong direction and the conversation is mainly about Jason Garrett’s job security.
That perspective could change if the Cowboys can come out and defeat a streaking team like the Rams. Los Angeles is 8-5 on the year and are trying to fight their way to a playoff berth. If the Cowboys could knock them off, things could suddenly look a little brighter.
